    It is found that owing to the large energy difference in K-and L-shells of the daughter atom, 158Tb is not the best candidate for neutrino "balance". Instead, l57Tb can offer a better chance for. neutrino mass determination if the Q-value 55 far obtained is verified. If it is so,then the relevant atomic calculation with high precision is very necessary. It is shown that to include the radiative correction in the Hartree-Fock calculation is very important for such atoms as 157Gd and 157Tb.

    Beginning with a more complete quantum-mechanical description of the single mode one-photon laser system with a saturable absorber and using the catastrophe theory, we discuss critical phenomenon analogies, namely exponent behaviors of the abrupt transitions between steady states near athresho1d; in the system. An isolated threshold with order θ=3 is found. Four threshold exponents β,δ,γand α, and four threshold amplitudes B,D, I and A', in two various spaces of control parameters, are obtained. These threshold exponents obey the generalized scaling laws, e.g., α+(1+z)β+γ=2,of 2=4 or Z=2 depending on two various choices of the space of control parameters. The source for this departure of exponent behaviors from the usual scaling laws(z=l) is also discussed.

    In this paper, a double-well potential model with variable zero-point is proposed, which can give a reasonable explanation to the five successive phases of thiourea, especially to the IC phase with ferroelectric order and the disordered C phase.

    The authors' previous work on the model of atomic tunneling states in amorphous solids is extended from a one-dimension model to a more realistic three-dimension model. Based on the model, the theoretical investigations on the effects of the two-level system (TLS) on the surface phonon in amorphous solid films have been made, and the results well agree with experiments.

    Under Glauber approximation, the problem about the theoretical description of the excitation for the 9.5 MeV level of 13C in inelastic scattering π-13C is discussed. It is assumed that the transition to the 9.5 MeV level is a semi-coherent one step process. The weak couplinq nucleus model was used for initial and final nucleus structure. Based on assumption J = Γ+/2 and approximation Γ(V) =1/2Γ(S), the differential cross section of the inelastic scattering 13C(π±±1)13C* (9.5MeV) at Tπ1ab=180 MeV was calculated and compared with existing data.

    This paper is devoted to establishing the relation between the holomorphic form of the functional integral and its Feynman form, as well as presenting a new way to evaluate the Feynman transformation matrix element by using the coherent state. The Feynman kernel for the harmonic oscillator with two time-dependent sources is thus derived. Besides these, by the use of the normal product form of the Wigner operator derived in Ref.[l] and the Weyl correspondence, the general holomorphic form of the functional integral and its evolution to the Feynman kernel are discussed.

    We have completed a systematic searching for realistic SU(N) grand particles. unified models containing fractionally charged The principles of constructing realistic models are originated from Georgi's with some changes on account of fractionally charged particles. We conclude that there are not any realistic models containing fractionally charged particles.

    Two characteristics of the Fermion coherent state are given in this paper. One is the duality of the Fermion coherent state. The other is the indefiniteness of their eigenvalues. The SLAC bag model is also discussed by using the Fermion coherent state methodology. Our zesults agree with the SLAC bounded state iolutions, so that quark confinement can be phenomenally, illustrated.In addition, rje have found a gluon-ball solution and a non-bounded state solution, which are absent from the SLAC theory. Hence,the method of the Fermion coherent state is effective.

    Based on the Weil homomorphism method, a unified scheme in which all the important topological ptoperties of the pseudoscalar Goldstone bosonand gauge fields. in even dimensional space are described, in one remarkably compact. form is given.These properties include the effective action, the skyrmion anomalous current, Abel'an anomaly, symmetric and asymmetric non-Abeliari chiral anomalies,and anomaly free conditions.

    The gauge invariant Wess-Zumino action functional in 2n dimensional space is obtained by properly constructing the manifestly gauge invariant (2n+1)-forms which satisfy the Abelian anomalous Ward identity in 2n+2 dimensional space. Apart from its simplicity, directness, the construction clearlu embodies the connections between the gauge invariant Wess-Zumino action functional, cniral anomalies and topology.

    An expression of the Tomimatsu-Sato metric in the Schwarzschild coordinates is found. In it those small terms of 0(1/r3)are omitted. The resulting expression is applied to the description of gravitationa field of ordinary spinning objects such as the sun. The Landau-Lifshitz method used to find the deflection of light and precession of perihelia in the Schwarzschild field is generalized to the gravitational field of a spinning object. It is shown the expressions of the deflection of light and precession of perihelia in the Tomimatsu-Sato.field are the same as those in the Kerr field. Tomimatsu and Sato have conjectured that their metric is more appropriate for describing the gravitational field of ordinarg spinning object than Kerr metric. In order to check this conjecture one must consider the terms smaller than (1/r2).

    It is shorn that the double magic nucleus 40Ca is unstable with respect to the double K-electron capture 40Ar. By using the shell model wave functions for both 40Ca and 40Ar, the lifetime of 40Ca is estimated as 1.2×1033yrs.

    The Goldhaber theory is generalized to the case of nuclei consisting of many kinds of components. Our generalization gives a correction to the momentum widths for non-symmetric puclei, and possibly is useful in treating fission and heavy-ion reaction problems.

    The Lie superalgebras D(M,N) are realized by creation and annihilation operators of bosons and fermions. The infinite-dimensional IR(irreducib1e representations) are constructed. These IR are star representations. And the IR are decomposed according to the superalgebra chain D(M,N)⊃A(M-1, N-1).
