    A Gaussian wave packet confined to move on a plane perpendicular to a magnetic field remains a Gaussian wave packet in its time evolution. The average position and momentum follow the Ehrenfest equations which are identical to the classical Hamilton equations. A set of nonlinear equations decoupled from the Ehrenfest equation is derived for the parameters describing the time evolution of the density distribution and phases of a wave packet. Explicit solutions are then obtained when the "internal" angular momentum of the wave packet vanishes. In this case it is shown that the motion of the wave packet is a superposition of a translational motion, a rotation and a vibration.

    The binary partition lines for the Hhnon map are numerically constructed from tangencies between the contracting and expanding foliations. The ordering of foliations acording to their symbolic sequences are examined.

    We have studied the effect of an external electric field on the dc fractional quantum Hall conductivity of a two-dimensional system with the dynamic structure function in the single-mode approximation. In analogy with the integral quantum Hall effect and euperconductivity, a gap-dependent critical electric current Jc, also exists in the case of fracctional quantum Hall conduction, above which is the maximum current for system to maintain superfluidity. We also find that, depending on the gap width and the phonon velocity, phonon may or may not contribute to the conductivity even at a finite lattice temperature, in agreement with experiments.

    By making use of the concept of phase slippage originally proposed by Anderson, we present a theoretical study of the boundary between two contiguous twodimensional electron systems in a strong magnetic field based on the conclusion that the number of flux quanta (h/e) pertaining to a electron is the inverse Landau filling factor. The magneto-transportation is related to the superfluidity analogy of the two-dimensional electron system. It is shown that voltages on the perimeters are determined explicitly by the Landau indices of the two contiguous regions. Then we apply to systems with many region in series and obtain results which are in good agreement with experiments associated with both the integer and fractional quantum Hall effects. Finally we discuss the quantization of the source-drain two-terminal resk tances.

    The quasiregular model is improved. Using the thermodynamic condition of phase equilibrium we obtain the equations of solid-liquid phase equilibrium curves. The phase diagrams for 11 binary alkali halide systeme having common anion have been obtained. The eutectic point of each phase diagram ie also calculated. The results show that the agreement of theoretical curves with the experimental reeults ie good (except the system CsBr-NaBr).

    In this paper, we present the quantum field theory of the surface phonon-polaritolis on a rough polar crystal surface. The dispersion relations of the surface phonon-polaritons and the dispersion relations of polariton leaking modes owing to the interaction between bulk TO mode with the surface effect and photons are derived. We also study the k-dependence of the electric field strength in each polariton branch. The numerical calculations for the dispersion relations and the k-dependence of the electric field strength are carried out for a stepped Gap surface. The results show that the surface roughness depressed the frequency of the surface phonon-polariton below its values in the absence of the surface roughness. For the frequencies of the polariton leaking modes, the photon-like one is enhanced by the surface roughness and the phonon-like one b depressed. Our evaluations also illustrate that the surface roughness introduces a strong dependence on the k-dependence of the electric field strength in each polariton branch.

    The calculations of the ground and a few low-lying excited states of impurity in the quantum wells (QW's) are presented by making use of a functional variational approach. A new trial wave function is proposed. It is taken by the product of the exact subband state in the Q W and the state of two-dimensional (2D) hydrogenic-like donor with an effective charge distribution along the z-direction (perpendicular to the well interfaces). The variation of binding energies of the donor states in the QW with the well-width is calculated. The calculated result is compared with that obtained by the earlier variational method. The functional variational approach proposed here has some benefits such as, to bring a great flexibility and to apply to a relatively large species of trial wave functions.

    A set of nonlinear stochastic differential equations (NSDE'S) that describes a large class of nonlinear multidimensional non-Markovian dynamical systems driven by the Ornstein- Uhlenbeck(O-U) noises is studied. By virtue of the stochastic generalization of usual adiabatic approximation, we obtain the equation for the order parameter. The statistical properties of the new stochastic variables occurred are studied. The effective Fokker-Planck equation (EFPE) corresponding to the equation for the order parameter is derived and the stationary solution of EFPE is calculated.

    We find a serierr of new solu tions to Was-Zumino's consistency conditions for noncommutative differential calculus on the quantum planerr. Therre solutions correspond to the quantum orthogonal planerr and quantum symplectic planerr, As a by-product, d2 = 0 is automatically satisfied in this construction.

    Following the discussions on quantum groups by Reshetikhin, Takhadshyan and Faddeev, we thoroughly studied the differential calculus on quantum groups, and obtained the explicit expreeeione in the case of SLq(2). We also compared our results with those of Woronowics and Podles under the restriction of SLq(2) to SUq(2).

    Unified composite model in which the metacolor symmetry group and the standard model group are embedded in a single group of the SU(N) type and unified above a certain energy scale are constructed. Such unification scheme provides constraints to the composite model building. The proposed models are analysed in terms of the complementarity principle to show that they satisfy the physics Higgs phiwe criterion. In order to obtain a metacolor scale of the order of a few tens TeV, the rank of the unification group b restricted.

    Two types of canonical transformations in two-mode classical phase space are mapped into the quantum mechanical Hilbert space to produce some new normally ordered unitary operators. These operators are evaluated in the coordinate (momentum) representations using the "integration within ordered product technique, and the mapping is maniferrtly apparent in the derivation. New generalixed coherent states are constructed in terms of these operators, and the uncertainty relations for these states are analysed.

    We resolve the problem of atomic hydrogen in two spatial dimensions exactly. Its spectrum ia different from that in three dimensions, M the angular momentum is not quantised in integer or half of odd-integer. We a h calculate the ground state energies for different cases of the parameter α, which may be related to the statistics of the electron in the atom.

    The renormalisation properties of non-Abelian chiral Sdwinger model is studied. The oneloop renormalixation counterterm is calculated. The results show that α (an arbitrary parameter appearing in the theory and determining its unitarity) is renormalized unless it is equal to zero or two, and there is neither coupling constant renormalization of e nor wave function renormalixation of gauge field, fermion field, and Wem-Zumino field.

    We show that after the spontaneous symmetry breaking has taken place the Abelian Higgs models with or without the Chern-Simons term would satisfy the same field equation with the massive Chern-Simons gauge theory and have the same anyon solutions. So we regard the massive Chern-Simons gauge theory as an effective gauge theory of the Abelian Higgs models.
