    Force- and energy-balance equations for hot-electron transport with and without intracollisional field terms are derived in general forms, which are equally valid for crystalline, amorphous and liquid systems. On the basis of these equations we carry out explicit calculations of the high-field resistivity for p-type Ge with the exact form of the intracollisional field terms included in the steady transport state. It is found that the rise in the electron temperature caused by the electric field always suppresses the intracollisional field effect, such that it is negligible in the steady-state transport for real systems.

    An eficient projector Monte Carlo method has been used to calculate the energies of the ground state and the first excited state, and hence the gap between them, of the spin-1 Heisenberg antiferromagnetic chains with linear sizes up to N = 40. We have computed them on chains up to N = 40. We have found that the size-dependence of the ground state energy per site has the form[e0(N)-e0]~1/N5/2, which implies that there is a gap between the ground state and the first excited state. The value of the ground state energy per site as N→ ∞ is e0 = -1.3996. The direct extrapolation of ΔE(N) also shows that a gap of ΔE = 0.36 exists as N→ ∞.

    Using a phenomenological model for the normal state of high-Tc superconductors, we have analyzed the angle-resolved photoemission spectra, and compared our results with the MFL theory and other microscopic models as well as with the experiments. In contrast to the MFL theory we predict that there exists a narrow lower energy region near the Fermi surface showing the conventional Fermi liquid behavior, which needs to be approved by fine experiments in future.

    By applying extended diagrammatic technique to SU(2) tensorial space Vj⊗V1/2 new solutions of the correspondent braid group representations and their Yang-Baxterization are established. The explicit forms of the new solutions of Yang-Baxter equation for j = 1 are given. Through this example the general feature of this new type of solutions is figured out.

    A Weyl ordering product operation (with its representative symbol) is introduced. On the basis of the operation, a technique of integration within a Weyl ordered product is put forward. Application of the technique to the coherent state representation leads us to derive the Weyl ordered forms of some important operators in quantum mechanics, which can be rigorously checked by the relation between our Weyl ordering product operation and the Weyl correspondence rule.

    All the similarity reductions of the dispersive wave equations in shallow water are obtained by a direct method. The similarity solutions obtained by the classical Lie approach are only a special case of the results given by the direct method.

    The braid group representation associated with the 10-dimensional representation of SU(4) is derived, based on the weight conservation and extended Kauffman diagrammatic technique. The corresponding trigonometric and rational solutions of the quantum Yang-Baxter equations are constructed in terms of the Yang-Baxterization procedure.

    Identical superdeformed bands exist extensively in the A ~ 190 region. With a few exceptions, almost all the superdeformed bands observed have their identical counterparts, supporting the concept of the quantized spin alignment. A likely explanation of the systematics of the superdeformed bands within the framework of particle-rotor model with pseudo-spin symmetry is presented.

    Based on the participant model the effect of secondary collisions in relativistic heavy ion collisions is analyzed by introducing additional contributions in fragmentation regions. The rapidity distributions of n of NA35 and WA80 groups are well reproduced. Special improvement is shown in the target fragmentation region.

    chiral soliton model with the gluon field, chiral doublet (σ, π)-field and chird singlet ω-meson field is employed to study A-nucleon elastic scattering phase shifts within the framework of the relativistic two-quark-cluster theory. The phase shifts are sensitive to the strange quark in the A-hyperon.

    The covariant differential calculus on the quantum Minkowski space is presented with the help of the generalized Wess-Zumino method and the quantum Pauli matrices. The quantum Dirac matrices are constructed parallel to those in the classical case. Combining these two aspects a q-analogue of Dirac equation follows directly.

    A Monte Carlo renormalization group investigation of 4-dimensional Φ4 theory is performed. Using special block method, the Ising renormalization flows and the Gaussian renormalization flows have been obtained, and the critical exponent v has been measured. The critical behavior supports the prediction of the triviality of the 4-dimensional iP4 theory.

    Within the framework of SU(2) chiral bag model, we determine the bag parameters and radii by fitting the mass spectra. In terms of these parameters we calculate the mean square root of the charged radius and the anomalous magnetic moments gP and gN. The ir values are obviousJy improved from that obtained from either the MIT bag model or the standard Skyrme model.

    The motion of hopping particles on an infinite chain is investigated. The model is characterized by the correlations between states due to exchange sites. The analytic solutions for this syttem are discussedin general case. For some special cases, exact results are obtained with the help of explicit calculations of propagators and mean square displacement deviation. Both probability propagators for the creation and annihilation of two particles or for the deformation and formation of Frenkel excitons are indicated.

    The average kinetic energy and its variance of fission fragments for the compound nucleus 213At are calculated by four-dimensional Langevin equation. Two collective coordinates are taken into account: the distance p between the centers of the nascent fragments and the neck parameter h using the {c, h, a} parametrization. The model allows for a realistic coordinate dependence of all coeficien ts appearing in the Langevin equation as computed by the Werner-Wheeler method. The diffusion process for thc fissioning nuclear system from the ground state to the scission line on the realistic energy surface is investigated. The results are in good agreement with the experiments.
