    Modified by the strong correlation existing in the high-TC cuprates, the photon-electron interaction Hamiltonian and tunneling Hamiltonian can cause the photoelectrons and the tunneling electrons to scatter the spin and charge fluctuations inelastically, in addition to the usual elastic scattering. The inelastic term is not only responsible for the three anomalies observed recently in ARPES or BIS, i.e, the large background, the non-sum rule and the dip, but also accounts for the V-shape behavior and the dip present in the SIN tunneling. The theoretical predictions are qualitatively in agreement with the experiments.

    There ark three kinds of effective attractive interaction between C602- and "nearly free" electron in A3C60: 1) the strong short-range attraction between the low energy unoccupied orbital of C602- ions and the "nearly free" electrons; 2) the potential barrier due to large angular momentum of t1u orbital; 3) the A+ crystal field forced "nearly free" electrons in C602- neighborhood. All effective attraction coupling with the A+ optical modes and the vibration modes of C60 mass center produces a strong electron-phonon interaction. It plays a principal role for A3C60 superconductivity. Based upon this mechanism critical temperature and other properties of superconductivity state can be explained by means of the BCS theory.

    Using microscopic theory of superconductivity, we find a universal relationship between Tc and hole content in p-type cuprate superconductors, which is consistent with the empirical ones given by Zhang and Sato. This paper predicts that there is also a universal relationship between energy gap and hole content.

    The electronic structure of a polar semiconductor film is investigated by using the Green's function method. The tight- binding approximation is employed to model the polar semiconductor by a one-dimensional finite chain of altering s orbital and p orbital. The energy states and their intensities are calculated for different n (n is the number of the layers of semiconductor film). The results are compared with those of a semi-infinite crystal.

    The transfer-matrix method is employed to investigate the spin waves in a ferromagnetic/non-magnetic superlat tice with an antiferromagnetic coupling between interfacial ferromagnetic layers across a non-magnetic spacer layers and the an tiparaUel magnetizations between neighboring ferromagnetic films. The dispersion relation of the spin waves is obtained. The effects of the thickness of the magnetic layers, the antiferromagnetic coupling strength and concentration of magnetic atoms at the interface on the spin wave spectra are discussed in detail.

    The influence of a bath consisting of both conduction electrons and Debye phonons on quantum tunneling in metals is studied by the perturbation approach developed by the authors. We find that the renormalized tunneling parameter and the condition oflocalization transition are modified in comparison with the results of a bath consisting of conduction electrons.

    The phase diagrams of one-dimensional g-ology model are studied. The known results of the XXZ spin 1/2 chain model are applied to extending the solutions to the massless range where the method of Gaussian wave functional is insufficient. The response functions of CDW, SDW, SS and TS are computed as temperature T→0.

    A quantum Ising spin-glass model in a transverse field is presented. The network is based on a modified version of the Hopfield spin glass. The equations for the order parameters describing the ordered phases are obtained, and the phase transitions of the system are analyzed. The ordered phases are suppressed by the existence of both quan turn effects and the random overlaps between the patterns.

    We discuss localization and the scattering of excitations in bifractals, a model of anisotropically disordered systems. The localization behavior is anisotropic. With the increase of energy, the excitation crosses over from an extended wave to a wave extended in one subspace while localized in another, then to a wholly-localized wave. The loffe-Regel frequency is shown to be in the wholly-localized regime. Relaxation processes are calculated for the emission and absorption of localized vibrational excitations by a localized electronic state.The anisotropy makes effects on the results.

    The symbolic dynamics of the periodically forced Brusselator for certain parameters is established, based on the binary partition determined from primary tangencies between forward and backward foliations of the Poincaré map. The ordering rule for forward and backward sequences is obtained, and the admissibility condition for allowed sequences is discussed. Some allowed periodic orbits are determined and numerically verified. A method to construct allowed chaotic sequences is proposed.

    Using the independent a-particle model and the nuclear molecular orbital model, a real optical potential of an identical 4N-nucleus system is derived and used well to discuss the gross resonant phenomena of the elastic scatterings for 12C + 12C and 16O + 16O systems.

    We analyze the electroweak parameter S of a composite Higgs model by making use of an effective action approach. The effect of the virtual vector technimesons is calculated. We find that the large contributions to parameter S from vector technimesons can be suppressed substantially in the composite Higgs model.

    Searching for a single top-quark production at LEP where the backgrohnd is relatively clean is interesting. We study e+e- tb (t
    b)+X cross sections at √s =200 GeV and √s =250 GeV energies in the framework of the minimal standard model and the extended standard model with two Higgs doublets. The resultant evaluation of the cross sections is not very encouraging, but can be optimistic and worth further serious studies in experiments and theories, if there exists charged Higgs with a large coupling parameter cotβ or the design luminosity is enhanced by several orders.

    By gauging the anomaly terms according to the gauge group SU(3)cl x SU(3)cr × SU(2)l × U(l)Y in the technicolor theory, we obtain various possibld anomaly vertices involving technicolor pseudo Goldstone boson and gauge boson (γ, Z, g, gA). We estimate the decay rates of gA → gP0, gA → PA03γ and gA → PA03Z.

    We introduce the Wess-Zumino field to the chiral Schwinger model with Faddeevian regularization. The Wess-Zumino action has an interesting form; it is a self-dual (chiral) boson action. The Schwinger term between the correctly defined Gauss-law constraints G(Χ) and G(y) can be canceled by the WZ action, and the constraint G(Χ) is the first-class one.

    From the static equation of atmosphere, the equation of state for ideal gases, the law of gravitation and the law of Maxwell distribution, the Jeans empirical rule is derived. The apphcability of the Jeans empirical rule is mainly determined by the mean density of the planet. It is shown to be applicable for all the known planets and satellites in the solar system.

    The parallel dynamics of Hopfield network with self-coupling terms is calculated by an analytical approach with probability theory. The explicit formulas obtained for the first two steps of evolu tion of main overlap are in good agreement with computer simulations.

    It is proved that the canonical quatization starting from a singular first-order Lagrangian yields the same physical results as a second-order Lagrangian which differs from the original singular Lagrangian by a total-time derivative term for a system with finite degrees of freedom. A typical example is given. For the case in the field theories a brief discussion is given and an example is illustrated.

    The Batalin-Fradkin algorithm combined with the Batalin-Fradkin-Vilkovisky formalism is applied to a two-dimensional model of a self-dual field interacting chirally with a gauge field. A Becchi-Rouet-Stora-Tyutin gauge-fixing action is obtained with auxiliary fields introduced in the algorithm turning into a Wess-Zumino field. The chirality of the Wess-Zumino field appears in a natural way.

    Using perturbative QCD in conjunction with CVC and standard electroweak theory, it is shown that at large Q2, F1n/F1P = F2n/F1P = -0.69. The comparison with other results on form factor ratios from QCD sum rules and/or PQCD is carried out.
