    An ultracold two-level ion which stays at its internal ground state, experiencing the standing wave of a large detuning laser in a Paul trap, has been studied in the Lamb-Dicke limit and near the weak excitation regime, with full consideration of the time dependence of the trapping potential.

    A new analytic model for ATIspectra of He in circularly polarized laser is proposed.The model gives a way to describe the effects of the final state Coulomb interaction and the joint interaction of the atomic potential and laser field. The experimental spectra by Mohideen et al. can be quite well described. The peak intensity contradiction, which appeared in previous literatures, can be considerably eliminated.

    Using the matrix diagonalization method, we have studied two kinds of level anticrosing of Rydberg cesium atom in parallel electric and magnetic fields. Our numerical results reveal that in the vicinity position of level crossing between different parity states in a magnetic field, the energy levels and other behaviors of the states are quite sensitive to the electric field. We tabulate some features which may be as a guide in experimental verification.

    The calculations of the whole energy spectrum and the g factor of the ground state for CaO:Ni2+ at ,normal pressure and their pressure-induced shifts have been carried out on the basis of the theory of pressure-induced shifts and the diagonalization of the complete d8 energy matrix in a regular octahedral field. The calculated results are in very good agreement with experimental data. The physical essentials of the pressure-induced shifts of typical levels and g factor for the ground state have been revealed by using the wavefunctions and energy spectra at various pressures.

    The models of rf-driven Josephson junctions are investigated as the perturbed systems.It is shown that the heteroclinic orbits corrected by perturbations are stable if some relations between the initial constants and system parameters are satisfied, which leads to Melnikov chaos. To stabilize chaos one has to make the control parameters fitting the relations.The result is compared with the previous numerical work and a good agreement is found.

    The effect of the depolarization field on the optical rectification due to resonant intersubband transition in electric-field-biased quantum well is studied. Calculations are performed using a compact density-matrix approach. The obtained results show that the depolarization effect shifts the peak of the optical rectification coefficient, and the shift increases with increasing of the bias field.

    The effects of polarons along main chain and spin-soliton-like along side-radical lattice in doped quasi-one-dimensional π-conjugated organic ferromagnets are studied by selfconsistent method. It is shown that the gap of spin-down and spin-up mid energy bands of the system decreases because new energy levels of localization states appear. The stability of organic ferromagnetic system is weakened with decreasing of the gap. In addition, it is also shown that there is charge transfer between main chain and side-radical lattice of the doped system.

    With an example of Ag ultrafine particles, the "diffusion-trapping-reaction aggregation" model of ultrafine particles is proposed, and the spontaneous evolution of ultrafine particles is described. The evolution kinetic equation is established and the solitary wave solution of evolution kinetic equation is found and discussed in detail.

    We study the mean first passage time (MFPT) over the fluctuatingpotential barrier for a stochastic model of motor proteins in the case of environmental perturbation proposed by J.H. LI et al. [Phys. Rev. E57 (1998) 39171. The MFPT is derived for a particle over the fluctuating potential barrier. It is shown that (i) there is resonant activation for the MFPT as a function of the flipping rate of the fluctuating potential barrier; (ii) the additive and multiplicative noises can weaken the resonant activation, but the correlations between them enhance the resonant activation; (iii) the susceptibility of the resonant activation to the multiplicative noise is far larger than that to the additive noise.

    It is proven that the relativistic charged ball with its charge less than its mass (in natural units) cannot have a nonsingular static configuration while its radius approaches its external horizon size. This conclusion does not depend on the details of charge distribution and the equation of state. The involved assumptions are (i) the ball is made of perfect fluid;(ii) the energy density is everywhere non-negative.

    A Bäcklund transformation of the (2+1)-dimensional dispersive long wave equations is derived by using the developed homogeneous balance method. by means of the Bäcklund transformation, the new multisoliton-like solution and other two types of exact solutions to these equations are constructed.

    The positive-parity collective states in the even-even 116-132Xe isotopes are studied in the framework of the interacting boson model. It is found that the isotopes can be well described by a schematic Hamiltonian in transition from U(5) to SU(3) dynamical symmetry. As the valence neutron number changes, the structure of the isotopes shows regular patterns of change.

    The extended x-rescaling model is tested by taking into account the parton recombination effect to explain the nuclear effects including the EMC effect, nuclear Drell-Yan ratios and the nuclear gluon distributions in the 56Fe nucleus. The calculated results satisfactorily agree with the data of the EMC effect, nuclear Drell-Yan ratio and nuclear gluon distributions.

    The CP-violating effects in the W pair production via photon-photon collisions are investigated in the fram'e of the THDM-111 with complex neutral current couplings. The numerical calculations manifest the resonance effect and the counteractive behaviour in CP asymmetries between the two CP-violating contributing parts from the h0 and H0 exchanging s-channel diagrams. We conclude that if the masses of the two neutral Higgs bosons H0 and h0 are quantitatively largely separated and the colliding energy of photons √s is close to the mass of h0 or H0, the CP-violating effect is possibly to be observed in this process.

    We carefully study the energy eigen-values and splitting of heavy quarkonia as there exist 1/r3 and δ3(r) singular terms in the potential which make a direct numerical solution of the Schrodinger equation impossible. We compare the results obtained in terms of perturbation and variational methods with various treatments.

    Using a Hamiltonian approach and the adiabatic approximation, the low-lying spectrum of the lattice O (N) model in the broken phase is analyzed to the next to leading order. It is seen that these corrections appear as a systematic expansion in the inverse power of the lattice size L in the large volume limit.

    The Gell-Mann and Low's technology and Bethe-Salpeter equation for manyparticles are first discussed. Then the space-like form of Bethe-Salpeter equation involving both the bound state and scatter state are extended to many-particle case. Consequently we build the formalism of the space-like equation with explicit Lorentz covariant form and without the difficulty of ghost states automatically.

    A set of moment relations, which can describe the charged fluids response to an intense pump laser, and a linearization substitution relation, which is more appropriate as compared with the past treatment, are given by theoretical analyses. The relevant equations of state (adiabatic and isothermal), momentum and energy equations are derived self-consistently.The dispersion relations of the electron plasma wave and the ion acoustic wave driven by an intense pump laser field are-obtained. The results show that the frequencies of both the excited electron plasma wave and the excited ion acoustic wave have a great modification in the case of strong pump. The former bears out the theoretical result obtained from Vlasov equation and the later is consistent with experimental observations. It is proved that the zero-frequency component of the laser light wave contribution to the plasma pressure tensor is un-neglected,which implies a greatly change to the wave excitation properties, particularly in the direction of parallel or approximately parallel to the laser field vector.

    Recently, laser and microwave scatterings have become one of the important diagnostic means for plasma. Laser and microwave correlative scattering spectrum is determined by particle-density fluctuations in a weak turbulent plasma. In a relativistic plasma, on the basis of complete electromagnetic interaction between particles, a general expression for particle density fluctuations and spectra of laser and microwave scattering from a magnetized plasma are derived. The laser and microwave scattering spectra provide information on electron density and temperature, ion temperature, resonance and nonresonance effects.

    We obtain the compact form of matrix elements of displacement operator between number states which is convenient for numerical computations by invoking the generalized Hypergeometric functions. The nonclassical properties of superposition of displaced number states and generation of them in Kerr medium are studied in detail. The evolution of atomic population inversion in the intensity-dependent Jaynes-Cummings model with the present superposition states as its input is also investigated.

    The effect of the pump bandwidth on the quantum statistical properties of Raman lasers is investigated. It is shown that the pump bandwidth may lead to the enhancement of output intensity noise squeezing even though it reduces the Mandel Q parameter.

    A radial-azimuthal instability analysis of a radiation-pressure-dominated accretion disk with advection is presented. We find that the including of a very little advection has significant effect on two acoustic modes, which are no longer complex conjugates of each other. With the increase of azimuthal perturbations, the thermal mode becomes more unstable and the viscous mode more stable, but there has no effect on acoustic mode. For geometrically slim and advection-dominated disks, the azimuthal perturbation and increasing of advection do not affect the stability of all the modes.

    Up to now, the period-doubling bifurcation in variable star is identified through the existence of subharmonics in the poGer spectrum of light curves. Therefore the question is arisen: How to find a general criterion of period-doubling bifurcation in pulsating stars from theoretical analysis. It is discussed in this paper. We found that for the stellar pulsating mapping the bifurcation from a fixed point to a two-cycle occurs at parameter λ1 = -0.63, i.e., adiabatic exponent Г1 = 1.331.

    Based on recently sleeping cellular substrates, a network model synaptically coupled by N three-cell circuits is provided. Simulation results show that: (i) the dynamic behavior of every circuit is chaotic;(ii) the synchronization of the network is incomplete; (iii) the incomplete synchronization can integrate burst firings of cortical cells into waxing-and-wanning EEG spindle waves. These results enlighten us that this kind of incomplete synchronization may integrate microscopic, electrical activities of neurons in billions into macroscopic, functional states in human brain. In addition, the effects of coupling strength, connectional mode and noise to the synchronization are discussed.

    We treat some fractal and statistical features of the DNA sequences. First, a fractal record model of DNA sequence is proposed by mapping,DNA sequences to integer sequences, followed by the R/S analysis of the model and computation of the Hurst exponents. Second, we consider the transition between the four kinds of bases within DNA. The transition matrix analysis of DNA sequences shows that some measures of complexity based on transition proportion matrices are of interest.

    In order to carry out the interaction picture in geometric quantization, we suggest to use the solution space of free equations of motion to replace the phase space in T*Q description or the space of motions in usual classical symplectic geometric description, and then a twoparameter formulation is designed to describe the evolution of classical interacting system. This is the classical analogue of quantum interaction picture in classical syrnplectic geometric description.

    Using the standard truncated Painlevé analysis, we have obtained some special types of exact explicit solitary wave solutions of the (3+1)-dimensional Kadomtsev-Petviashvilli equations. Usually, one obtains the single solitary wave solution from the Backlund transformation related to the truncated Painlevé analysis starting from the trivial vacuum solution. In this letter, we find some special types of the multi-solitary wave solution from the truncated Painlevé analysis and the trivial vacuum solution.

    Based on the quark propagator in the instanton dilute liquid approximation, we have determined the nonlocal four-quark condensate at the mean-field level in the framework of global color symmetry model. By making use of this formula, the vacuum susceptibility (pionsusceptibility) was calculated in this paper. The theoretical analysis and numerical calculation show that even at the mean-field level the naive vacuum saturation approximation is not a good approximation when we consider nonlocal four-quark condensate.

    Neutrino oscillation and CP violation effects are discussed in an SUSY model proposed in Ref. [1]. The oscillation probabilities expected by this model in short baseline and long baseline neutrino oscillation experiments are calculated.

    Based on the gauge potential decomposition theory and the φ-mapping method, the topological inner structure of the Chern-Sirnons-Higgs vortex has been studied strictly. It is shown that there exits a multi-charged vortex at every zero point of the Higgs scalar field φ. The multivortex solutions in the Chern-Simons-Higgs model are obtained strictly.

    The divergence problem in momentum representation of some singular potentials in Schrodinger equation is discussed. A set of exact solutions for a singular integral equation and the criteria determining the solutions in momentum space are obtained. The problems on Loudon's symmetric solutions and counter example of nondegeneracy theorem are solved.

    We introduce a new unitary operator U which can engender a squeezing and rotating entangled transformation. The U operator has a concise expression in a new representation in two-mode Fock space. The normally ordered form of U can be derived by using the technique of integration within an ordered product of operators. The fluctuation in quadrature phases for these squeezing-rotating entangled states are analyzed.
