    A consistent tanh expansion (CTE) method is developed for the dispersion water wave (DWW) system. For the CTE solvable DWW system, there are two branches related to tanh expansion, the main branch is consistent while the auxiliary branch is not consistent. From the consistent branch, we can obtain infinitely many exact significant solutions including the soliton-resonant solutions and soliton-periodic wave interactions. From the inconsistent branch, only one special solution can be found. The CTE related nonlocal symmetries are also proposed. The nonlocal symmetries can be localized to find finite Bäcklund transformations by prolonging the model to an enlarged one.

    Under investigation in this paper is a (3+1)-dimensional variable-coefficient Kadomtsev-Petviashvili equation, which describes the propagation of surface and internal water waves. By virtue of the binary Bell polynomials, symbolic computation and auxiliary independent variable, the bilinear forms, soliton solutions, Bäcklund transformations and Lax pair are obtained. Variable coefficients of the equation can affect the solitonic structure, when they are specially chosen, while curved and linear solitons are illustrated. Elastic collisions between/among two and three solitons are discussed, through which the solitons keep their original shapes invariant except for some phase shifts.

    In this paper, we consider the relativistic Hamilton-Jacobi (HJ) equation and study Hawking radiation (HR) of scalar particles from uncharged Grumiller black hole (GBH) which is affordable for testing in astrophysics. It is also known as Rindler modified Schwarzschild BH. Our aim is not only to investigate the effect of the Rindler parameter a on the Hawking temperature (TH), but to examine whether there is any discrepancy between the computed horizon temperature and the standard TH as well. For this purpose, in addition to its naive coordinate system, we study on the three regular coordinate systems, which are Painlevé-Gullstrand (PG), ingoing Eddington-Finkelstein (IEF), and Kruskal-Szekeres (KS) coordinates. In all coordinate systems, we calculate the tunneling probabilities of incoming and outgoing scalar particles from the event horizon by using the HJ equation. It has been shown in detail that the considered HJ method is concluded with the conventional TH in all these coordinate systems without giving rise to the famous factor-2 problem. Furthermore, in the PG coordinates Parikh-Wilczek's tunneling (PWT) method is employed in order to show how one can integrate the quantum gravity (QG) corrections to the semiclassical tunneling rate by including the effects of self-gravitation and back reaction. We then show how this yields a modification in the TH.

    Within the mean-field three-site Bose-Hubbard model, the tunneling dynamics of dipolar bosonic gas with a periodically modulation of s-wave scattering is investigated. The system experiences complex and rich coherent tunneling (CT)-coherent destruction of tunneling (CDT) transitions resulting from the correlated effect among the next-neighbor dipole-dipole interaction, the on-site interaction and the modulated s-wave scattering. In particular, The region of the modulated s-wave scattering for generating CT (CDT) is the widest (narrowest) when the on-site interaction and the next-neighbor dipole-dipole interaction have some correlated values, which are closely related to the tunneling energy and the interaction energy of the system. The correlated values for appearing CDT can be theoretically gained from the tunneling energy and the interaction energy of the system.

    The extinction phenomenon induced by multiplicative non-Gaussian Lévy noise in a tumor growth model with immune response is discussed. Under the influence of the stochastic immune rate, the model is analyzed in terms of a stochastic differential equation with multiplicative noise. By means of the theory of the infinitesimal generator of Hunt processes, the escape probability, which is used to measure the noise-induced extinction probability of tumor cells, is explicitly expressed as a function of initial tumor cell density, stability index and noise intensity. Based on the numerical calculations, it is found that for different initial densities of tumor cells, noise parameters play opposite roles on the escape probability. The optimally selected values of the multiplicative noise intensity and the stability index are found to maximize the escape probability.

    We investigate the effect of alpha stable noise on stochastic resonance in a single-threshold sensor system by analytic deduction and stochastic simulation. It is shown that stochastic resonance occurs in the threshold system in alpha stable noise environment, but the resonant effect becomes weakened as the alpha stable index decreases or the skewness parameter of alpha stable distribution increases. In particular, for Cauchy noise a nonlinear relation among the optimal noise deviation parameter, the signal amplitude and the threshold is analytically obtained and illustrated by using the extreme value condition for the output signal-to-noise ratio. The results presented in this communication should have application in signal detection and image restoration in the non-Gaussian noisy environment.

    Using an improved homogeneous balance principle and an F-expansion technique, we construct the new exact periodic traveling wave solutions to the (3+1)-dimensional Gross-Pitaevskii equation with repulsive harmonic potential. In the limit cases, the solitary wave solutions are obtained as well. We also investigate the dynamical evolution of the solitons with a time-dependent complicated potential.

    In this paper, outer synchronization between drive-response dynamical networks is investigated. Impulsive control combining with adaptive strategy is adopted to design controllers for achieving the goal. Based on the Lyapunov function method and mathematical analysis technique, a synchronization criterion with respect to the impulsive gains and intervals is analytically derived. From the criterion, the impulsive gains can adjust themselves to proper values when the impulsive intervals and some constants are fixed, and vice versa. Finally, two numerical examples are provided to verify the effectiveness of the derived result.

    The extended simplest equation method is used to solve exactly a new differential-difference equation of fractional-type, proposed by Narita [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 381 (2011) 963] quite recently, related to the discrete MKdV equation. It is shown that the model supports three types of exact solutions with arbitrary parameters: hyperbolic, trigonometric and rational, which have not been reported before.

    We consider the backreaction of the fundamental flavor degrees of freedom on the AdS5-Schwarz background, and calculate their contributions to the shear viscosity and jet-quenching parameter of the thermal quark-gluon plasma.

    From the inspection of noncommutative quantum mechanics, we obtain an approximate equivalent relation for the energy dependence of the Planck constant in the noncommutative space, which means a minimal length of the space. We find that this relation is reasonable and it can inherit the main properties of the noncommutative space. Based on this relation, we derive the modified Klein-Gordon equation and Dirac equation. We investigate the scalar field and φ4 model and then quantum electrodynamics in our theory, and derive the corresponding Feynman rules. These results may be considered as reasonable approximations to those of noncommutative quantum field theory. Our theory also shows a connection between the space with a minimal length and the noncommutative space.

    Integrability plays a central role in solving many body problems in physics. The explicit construction of the Jack polynomials is an essential ingredient in solving the Calogero-Sutherland model, which is a one-dimensional integrable system. Starting from a special class of the Jack polynomials associated to the hook Young diagram, we find a systematic way in the explicit construction of the transition coefficients in the power-sum basis, which is closely related to a set of mutually commuting operators, i.e. the conserved charges.

    In recent years, a nonzero value for the neutrino mixing angle θ13 has been successively measured by the international famous reactor oscillation experiments, which is greater than 5 standard deviations. Our study is in the framework of the MSSM, where baryon and lepton numbers are local gauged symmetries (BLMSSM). This model can generate three tiny neutrino masses at the tree level through TeV scale seesaw mechanism. In our paper, we analyze the neutrino masses and their corresponding mixing angles with a "top-down" method, assuming neutrino mass spectrum with normal ordering (NO) and inverted ordering (IO).

    The T-parity in the littlest Higgs model can be broken by the anomalous Wess-Zumino-Witten term, which leads that the lightest T-odd gauge boson AH decays into the SM particles. First, we examine some lepton flavor violating decays of AH, namely AHτ±μ, AHτ±e, and AHμ±e. We find that the branching ratios can reach 10-7 for AHτ±μ, 10-8 for AHτ±e, and 10-8 for AHμ±e. Then, we study the lepton flavor violating plus jets signatures of the heavy charged gauge boson and mirror quarks at the LHC, and find that it is possible to be detected for ppqHqHτ±μ+4 jets, and hardly to be detected for ppqHqHτ±e(μ±e)+4 jets and ppWHWHτ±μ(τ±e, μ±e)+6 jets.

    The barrier against the spontaneous fission has been determined within the Generalized Liquid Drop Model (GLDM) including the mass and charge asymmetry, and the proximity energy. The shell correction of the spherical parent nucleus is calculated by using the Strutinsky method, and the empirical shape-dependent shell correction is employed during the deformation process. A quasi-molecular shape sequence has been defined to describe the whole process from one-body shape to two-body shape system, and a two-touching-ellipsoid is adopted when the superdeformed one-body system reaches the rupture point. On these bases the spontaneous fission barriers are systematically studied for nuclei from 230Th to 249Cm for different possible exiting channels with the different mass and charge asymmetries. The double, and triple bumps are found in the fission potential energy in this region, which roughly agree with the experimental results. It is found that at around Sn-like fragment the outer fission barriers are lower, while the partner of the Sn-like fragment is in the range near 108Ru where the ground-state mass is lowered by allowing axially symmetric shapes. The preferable fission channels are distinctly pronounced, which should be corresponding to the fragment mass distributions.

    Stability analysis is one of the key issues in car-following theory. The stability analysis with Lyapunov function for the two velocity difference car-following model (for short, TVDM) is conducted and the control method to suppress traffic congestion is introduced. Numerical simulations are given and results are consistent with the theoretical analysis.

    We calculate the Casimir force between a perfect reflective wall and a semitransparent wall in the laser cavity. Using the Fox-Li quasimode theory to describe the electromagnetic field in the laser cavity, the vacuum energy and the Casimir force are calculated. We compare our results to the force in the ideal situation and find it smaller in the dissipative cavity. We also find that the Casimir force decreases with the increase of the wall-wall distance and the decay rate of the quasimodes in the laser cavity.

    The front dynamics driven by a convection field in a model of FitzHugh-Nagumo type is studied both analytically and numerically. Saddle-node bifurcation induced by the convection field is found by using a singular perturbation analysis of front solutions. Convection field accelerates the Bloch front propagating opposite the direction of convection field, but inhibits the Bloch front propagating along the direction of convection field. In addition convection field drives Ising front to travel opposite the direction of convection field.

    This work focuses on the characteristics of the Rayleigh-Taylor Instability (RTI) of the interfaces formed by two semi-infinitely distributed fluids and one interlayer. In consideration of the coupling effects between the interfaces, the expression of the growth rate is obtained. The result reveals that the instability growth rate depends on the density and thickness of the interlayer. It is found that if the interlayer thickness is less than 0.6 times of the disturbing wavelength, the coupling effects should be considered.

    Self-similarity based model of proton structure function at small x was reported in the literature sometime back. The phenomenological validity of the model is in the kinematical region 6.2×10-7x ≤ 10-2 and 0.045 ≤ Q2 ≤120 GeV2. We use momentum sum rule to pin down the corresponding self-similarity-based gluon distribution function valid in the same kinematical region. The model is then used to compute bound on the longitudinal structure function FL (x,Q2) for Altarelli-Martinelli equation in QCD and is compared with the recent HERA data.

    In this paper, we investigate the electron transfer (ET) in donor-acceptor model. The Langevin equation with random forces is used. The oscillations of the primary states observed in experimental data have been shown with this approach. And other features on the dependence of the rate of ET on temperature, free energy, and reorganization energy have also been clearly shown.
