Abstract424)      PDF(pc) (2705KB)(1067)       Save
The ionization of the travelling hydrogen negative ion with high velocity in a uniform magnetic field is discussed by using perturbation theory in the first approximation. The choice of the H -ion wave function is illustrated with emphasis. And it is shown that various wave functions of the H-ion affect calculation results. The theoretical cal-culation by using Rotenberg-Stein wave function with five parameters is consistent with the experimental results ob-tained by G. M. STINSON et a1. in 1969.

In evaluating the β-spectrum of atomic H3 a more accurate formula is obtained. in which the first three transitions leading to the Lowest three states of 3He+ are treated exactly, and the cJosure approximation is used to estimate the contribution from all excited states with n>3.The formula obtained is compared with what is used by Lyubimov et al.[1] in determining the neutri-no mass. As a result it has been shown that the formula used by Lyubimov et al. does not yield an adequate accuracy. Especially the end-point energy they obtained may differ from the true value by 13.6 ev, which would cause an uncertainty of the same order inthe value of the neutrino mass.

The present article intends to call attention to a class of multiphonon processes which may play a role not to be ignored. The mechanism is explained throagh'the discussion of a few examples.

Asymptotic properties of the master equations for chemical reactive systems whose macroacopic rate equations have more than one stationary state are discussed Itsing generating function method. The systematic singular perturbation expansion method for equation of generating function is generalized to include the case of multi-stationary system beyond the bifurcation point and the following conclusions are proved: For such systems, there is a Gaussian fluctuation before next genuine bifurcation point] a critical fluctuation at a genuine bifurcation point; and a macroscopic fluctuation when the system is on the coexistence line which is determined by the master equation. Furthermore, the relation between the cumulant of generat-ing function and the stochastic potentia 1 is also established. Our discussion, however, is limited to homogeneous system of one variable only.

Within the framework of the Glauber Theory, we divide the many-particle system into two subsystems, formed by the "Valence" particles and the "Sea" particles respectively. Then the multiple scattering amplitudes can also be divided into "sea" - "sea", "sea" - "valence","valence" - "sea", and "valence"- "valence" multiple scattering amplitudes. For the calculation of these different amplitudes, different effective approximate methods are proposed. Finally, the S matrix for the "sea" - "sea ", "sea" - "valence";"valence" - "sea" and "valence" - "valence" processes is, obtained which is physically clear and convenient in calculation.

Abstract452)      PDF(pc) (2990KB)(1028)       Save
Three theorems on amplification of fluctuations at nonequi-librium are proposed: (1) Amplification of a fluctuation is possible within a closed system. (2) The second-order time derivative of Boltzmann's B-quantity may contain terms of nega-tive value. (3) An H-theorem for open systems. It is pointed out in the paper that the fact that micros-copic transition rates are not all identical constitutes the basis of the theorems proposed. And this nonidenticalness is also a fundamental reason why phenomena defying the thermody-namic law in an apparent way (such as life) exist in the course of evolution. It is also pointed out in the paper that at states far from thermal equilibrium it is "selection" instead of "averaging" that works in the statistics of the quantum states. Finally it is speculated that certain key biomolecules such as ATP are situated at Long Zifetime excited states, thus at states far from thermal equilibrium. The biomolecules are large fluctuations produced or amplified during a relaxation process starting from an extreme initial state (even further from equilibrium),and stabilized by solar radiation in the present day. Again, selection takes the place of an averaging which is artificial and which Ievels out the whole set of transition rates.

It has been found that the density oscillation has no effect on the eigenvalue owing to the electromagnetic interaction between the pion and nucleus. However, the energy shifts due to the strong interaction, depend on the oscillation parmeters of the nuclei. We have taken the oscillation parameters which are compared with theoretical calculation, and obtained better calculation, results of the strong interraction energy shiftsin the pionic atom as compared with experimental ones.

(MWLand MWR are the left and right handed intermediate boson respectively. If there exists neutrino the mass of which is about 34 ev. as indicated in some experiments, then one can conclude that the total neutrino mass of the universe s,bvld contribute abput 99%. to the whole masses and lead to the closeness of the universe. This conclusion can be brought to the agreement of all observation datd which have been-obtained so far. A mass limit of all species of neutrinos obtained by reexamining all data is ≤ 200 eV.

By using a highly accurate variational wave function with 50 parameters for hydrogen molecule[4] and the wave function of HeH+ used by Wolniewicz with 64 parameters[5], the behavior of the β-spectrum of H-T→ HeH+-+νe is discussed. The spectral shape thus obtained deviates remarkably from the β-spectrum of an atomic triton, and hence is different from the for mula used by Lyubimov et al. in determining the neutrino mass. This means that the "atomic approximation" is invalid in describing the molecular β-spectrum of valine, and the conclusion about the value of neutrino mass based upon the analysis of β -spectrum of valine also cannot be regarded as a reliable one. Therefore, in order to obtain ari accurate value of neutrino mass from the β-spectral shape, it is important to investigate the structure of the radioactive source, from which the corection has arisen.

Several equivalent, expressions for the generating functional of the order parameter are derived in this paper to elucidate how the statistical properties are incorporated in its field-theoretical structure. It is shown that in the process of determining the generating functional the dynamic evolution and the statistical information can be separated to a certain extent which facilitates solving the problem. The whole procedure is greatly simplified if the statistical correlation is Gaussian or a generalized fluctuation-dissipation theorem (FDT) holds. As an example, the Gaussian character of the thermal-equilibrium distribution is justified and the Matsubara technique.along the imaginary time axis is extended to the real axis to provide a complete perturbation scheme for the closed time-path Green's functions (CTPGF).

In this work, the analysis of the space-time manifolds, their kinematic groups and Lie algebras are made as intuitive as possible. First of all, an analysis ofthe inertial frames shows that the space-time manifold in which there exists a global inertial frame should be a pseudo-sphere so that the kinematic group must be a rotation group. Thus the explicit analytical expressions of such kinematical transformations and the commutation relations among the corresponding generators can be formulated easily. Consequently, the contractions of such manifolds, kinematic groups and Lie algebras can be deduced concretely and intuitively.
